In 2008, Mike Shampton, the inventor of the Hillbilly Backscratcher, said to his brother, “Dayton, Ohio has more inventions per capita than any city in America,” so why not add to the list! Soon after, he had an idea: Shampton never felt completely satisfied with any back scratcher he tried on the market. Three prong wooden handles, the plethora of corners in his home, regardless of what he used, nothing did the trick. He knew there had to be a better answer… thus the Hillbilly Backscratcher was born! He’s been using the same one for 14 years and found he can’t live without it. He hangs it on his doorknob for easy access.
